AfterSchool Programs
HeartWorks serves over 150 kindergarten through eighth grade students for three (3) hours each weekday each school year as part of the 21st Century Community Learning Center Afterschool Program. Held in our newly updated Safe Harbor Youth Center in Bayboro, NC, this robust program is offered at no cost to all participants. Funding provided by a 21st Century Community Learning Center grant, individual and corporate donations, and fundraising.
Summer Programs
During the summer, HeartWorks offer a six week Summer Learning Program on weekdays at our Safe Harbor Youth Center, from June 22 through July 31. This program is full of focused academic, unique enrichment, enlightening service, and fun recreational activities, and is provided at no-cost to over 100 children. Funding comes from individual and corporate donations, small grants and fundraising.
Please note: students must re-enroll at the beginning of each year’s Afterschool Program and / or Summer Program, even if they have attended HeartWorks afterschool and / or summer programs in the past.
