HeartWorks is 501(c)3 nonprofit community service agency in Bayboro, North Carolina.

We provide free afterschool care and summer programs. Our mission is to address the underserved mental and physical health needs of youth and their families in Pamlico County and surrounding areas. Education and positive mental health are the cornerstones of our efforts. Nurturing is our method.

Summer Programs

HeartWorks serves kindergarten through eighth grade students for three hours each weekday.

Volunteers are at the heart of HeartWorks

Know how to move through a yoga flow? Maybe chess or gardening fascinate you. Perhaps you have skills in basketball, or know how to throw and catch a ball.

HeartWorks is always looking for volunteers to help in the classrooms, tutor children individually, or share their skills with the younger generations.

Don't have the time to volunteer? There are other ways to support HeartWorks' community mission. Every September is Harborfest for HeartWorks, a Gala evening of dinner, drinks and a live auction all at HarborWorks Safe Harbor Youth Center. Find out more below.
